Then the procession moved on to the gate, the leader still dancing his solo dance which at least had energy. The group stopped just in front of the gate, just under the natural arch of a rubber tree. The basket with the head is put onto the ground in the gate and an old man of the Wanghelim clan. He comes with a banana leaf bowl full of madhu, pours it onto the basket and says, "Pangsha's rich men and warriors (104) may they come, may they quickly come together here. Your mother, your son, they too may come. Your brother, may they gather here quickly". Then a man of the Doalim clan steps up to the basket, sprinkles it with madhu and says the same words. The basket is picked up again and the warrior group moves into the village. |
