Kongan head receiving dance |
text: |
At the fork to the Dikhu we are already expected by the young men of the lower khel of Kongan (the morungs Chingha and Lingba). They wear full ceremonial dress and the row of feather decorated helmets is only disrupted by a ridiculous top hat with flowers added which no doubt has passed through many hands until it reached Kongan. They throw themselves like hungry wolves onto the piece of head and fasten it to one of their little baskets, then they start their dance right here on the path |
