text: Left Kohima around 3 p.m. after a moving farewell from Mills. Mills also is already in a mood of departure as he will leave the Naga Hills early in March and will take up a new post in Shillong as Secretary for the Excluded Areas. The drive to down here was quite chilly and the endless curves almost make one seasick. My train leaves for Gauhati at 10.30p.m. As the Station Master tells me, even in the winter here there is much malaria around now.
