text: My hope for a turn in the weather was fulfilled and a sunny morning makes the postponement of our departure seem reasonable. The trail down to Tanhai is still partly quite slippery today and my seven coolies have difficulties going down without slipping. I myself go ahead with Yongang who is coming along to Longkhai with me in lack of any other dobashi. As usual when I walk together with a man for a longer way I found out all sorts of new things as he has time to spin out his thoughts while walking and makes far more spontaneous comments than if one is sitting down to work with a notebook.
