text: Slowly the procession is moving up the mountain. The piece of head is wrapped up in a basket which is carried by one of the older men. They now start a chant on the open place near my camp, right in front of the fence which keeps the animals from the fields. From more than a hundred throats it swells up mightily and ends in hoarse cries. (107) Several times they walk around the place which is completely filled with the crowd of warriors. With each shout rises a forest of daos out of which shine the white feathers of their hats. Unfortunately it is still foggy and it is not possible to take a satisfactory photograph of this unusual event.
