After a further climb which again goes along a cleared slope, and full of sunshine, we come to a resting place where the Ang is sitting with some people. The Ang has acquired a new headdress which dazzles me in the truest sense of the word. He has taken a cap with a sunshield and has covered it all over with silver foil and then he has fastened two upright little horns to it which also are covered with foil. (138) The little horns could just as well serve as small wings as the Ang looks like the caricature of a Christmas angel. The beautifully carved small head on his chest stands in strange contrast to the headdress. This head is a work of art and possibly the best I have ever seen. |
