In the village the people are sitting on their platforms and the men are getting their ornaments ready in the morungs. (141) The houses have the same shape as in Wakching and differ from those of Oting and Longkhai. They have a curved front across which the roof comes far down, while in Oting the fronts of the houses are flat and the roof ends in an ordinary gable. Furthermore the ridge of the Oting houses slightly slopes towards the front and there is not one ridge beam which goes through the entire house but instead at least two which form the ridge and from the point at which they are fitted together they slightly slope downwards towards the end of the house. |
