text: I then asked Dzemang whether he and his friends and the Bala girls would eat from the same bowl at lunch-time. He denied this as it is prohibited to eat with the girls of one's own morung. Furthermore he as an Ang man cannot eat from the same bowl as Ben people anyway. When I asked him further whether he also eats alone when he is working with Thepong girls and his Bala friends eat with then he says "Of course I would like to eat with them too but Ghawang can see it". So he does not dare to do so. A man of the Ang clan who marries a Ben girl may not eat with his own wife although his children may eat both with him and with their mother.
