If a girl is young and shy this harmless entertainment in front of the house may go on for some months but gradually the boy talks his beauty into coming into the dark ante-room of the house immediately behind the entrance where usually there also is a machan and as the girl as Shankok says agrees with her heart but still refuses with her mouth, the boy sometimes uses gentle force and pulls the only slightly resisting girl into the house by her wrists. |

(170) The first intercourse usually happens on the small machan in the ante-room. The lovers do not fear to be interrupted by the girl's parents but they are embarrassed to be seen by the girl's brother, but he is rarely in the house but either in the morung or on amorous adventures of his own. When the lovers know each other better the girl then agrees to spend a whole night in the rice granary with him. |
