We passed some people from Chingtang who were driving two cows up as sacrificial animals for their Oulingbu. One of these cows literally was only skin and bones, but she had only cost 4 Rs. I arrived in the village before two o'clock. Where the path goes up to the Bala all gaonburas and the Ang were sitting drinking tea. They too are holding a genna today because of the earthquake. On genna days the men are much better off than the women as the latter still have to go and get water and wood. The Ang's house is still not being built. Now they say that it will be built next week. Although Yongmek had already built the first field hut on the fifth day of the new month, not everyone has built their hut. I spent the afternoon putting my things in order. |
