In the village one can already feel the coming of the Oulingbu. Cows which are to be slaughtered stand in the anteroom of many houses as well as in front. The people are cleaning their houses and the women make madhu. (56) Day before yesterday the girls of the Angban and Balang made madhu which the young men of their morungs will drink when they build the two platforms for the Oulingbu dance. Such platforms are only set up in front of the Ang's house and the Ang of the Balang so there is no need for the girls of the other morungs to prepare madhu. The morung buys the necessary rice in the Angban and Balang. Yesterday the rice beer needed for the feast was started in the individual households. Wealthy people prepare large baskets, poorer people only small baskets. |
