text: Coincidentally we also came to speak about the Great Angs. He told me that the Ang of Mon and other Great Angs are addressed as 'Dzanin', tiger. Usually the people of Wakching do not genuflect when they pass a Great Ang but Shankok said that when the Ang of Chi is a guest in his house he does not stand up fully in his presence, but this was only an act of politeness. Shankok also mentioned that the Great Angs can take any girl they like in their villages into their house. If a girl refuses she might be tied up and pushed into a ravine.
