(117) Ou-ling-pu - in front of the Ang's house one big platform is built, - and two outside the two morungs. The former is built by all the villagers, - the latter only by the morung boys. On these platforms the boys and girls dance, - the boys begin on their own morung platforms, then they gather on the Ang's platform. The boys dance there only for a short time, - then the girls dance from about midday to the evening. (118) Then all the men and boys, old and young, assemble in front of the Ang's house and dance from the late afternoon till deep into the night. Then at night, a tug-of-war takes place, the men and boys of the 2 morungs pull on opposite sides, - the women only witness it. |
