Shayonghu, Yamahu, Nokanokphong, Koknokhu, Wem-nok and Yin-yonghu and Angnokphong and Leu-nokhu, Dzo-nok, Nian-mei-hu, Mai-bang-hu, Phongmoi-hu and Shangponghu - all these clans came out of the Dikhu too. |

The Wakching people have however the tradition that they originally came from a hill across the Brahmaputra, Dze-lau-yeang-niu-dzau (i.d. Water great across hill). From there they (184) crossed the Brahmaputra valley and went first along the Dikhu to the Chongwe side, but finding the soil not fertile there they at last settled together with the Wanching people - Wanching - Wakching. But half of the people remained on the other side of the Brahmaputra. |
