(194) Beang-dzak-bu is held in Lia (beang = blossoms of crops and vegetables). It is announced by the Nieng-ba of Aukheang [konyak]. The next day is genna and from now on beating the drum ang blowing the horn is forbidden. |

(195) Beang-wa-dzak-bu is held in Pong-lo-pong-li but before Duk-shu-bu. Again it is announced by the Aukheang Neangba, not by words, but by putting three split bamboos on the ground near the girls' platform along the road. The next day is genna. On the day of Beang-wa-dzak-bu, Yongmek and Dzing-ben (the black smith) go to the fields and fetch some rice plants which they put to the genna place at the junction of the Aukheang and Thepong path. The Aukheang Neangba makes also the Shou-bau-bu for the boys and cuts their hair. This was not done this year. |
