text: They say Ghagang is like a Brahmin or a fakir. Ghagang is male, the Gashis are female. (This was stated by several men with great certainty.) (46) Dzelok and Nauman, two brothers, made the earth. The younger brother Nau-man made the plains of Assam. Dzelok made the Naga Hills. Nauman was very quiet and took a lot of trouble in levelling the plains, but Dzelok was impatient and rough and made the hills quite uneven. Dzelok's children and descendants are the Nagas, Nauman's the plains people.
