(93) At the foundation of Wangla the founders came from three different directions. The Ang-clan came from Hang-nyu. The "ground-owner" clan, the Khihim, came from the direction of Lapha. The Wang-hu-him came from Chinglong by way of Pung-yuhung (an abandoned site near Tanhai), from where some went to Totok, others to Wangla. First the Wang-hu-him arrived and built a village. When they beat the drum the Khihim people who had a village at the site of Lapha and were owners of the (94) land came and asked: "Who is beating a drum here, we are the owners of this land". The Wang-hu-him men said: "We have come and built a village and want to live here". Then the Khihim men said: "Alright, let us make a village together and intermarry". So they built Wangla with the Wang-him and the Nau-dzong and the Dzing-shong morung. (93v) The Nan-dzong and the Dzing-shong morung were both built by the Khihim clan. The former is the "Kokai" the latter the "bhai". Now the Khi-him clan is only in the Nau-dzong morung, but the Khi-him men eat also in the Dzing-shon-ban. At that time the Wang-hu-him clan provided the Ang. After a time the Wang-hu-him men said: "The work of an Ang is a bad one, let us get an Ang from another village". (95) So they asked for an Ang from Hang-nyu. The Hang-nyu Angs said to the Wang-hu-him people: "We are of Ang clan and so are you, let us eat together". But the Wang-hu-him men said: "No, let's eat seperately". Later on the Dak-him clan came from Lung-nyu. Then the Khoi-him clan came from Chi. Ghung-him came from Lunglam. Metong-him from Chi. Gho-him from Chi. Namhim from Tang. (96) Metshangha-rhim is the "bhai" of Khihim. Langhim came from the frontier (Shima). |

The first field-house is built by a man of Khoi-him clan. The Khoi-him also eats first when men assemble and of every animal killed the Khoi-him clan gets a part of the hind-quarters. The man who builds the first field house is the Yemba and lives on the first house site where the Khoi-him men settled when coming from Chi. |
