(105) The smaller boys wear their hair long and don't sleep in the morung. This autumn a small boys' morung will be built for them as it exists in Oting. Before the boys enter the morung ie. when they are about 15, they cut the hair in front and bind it up behind. Always a gang of boys (about 6-8) enter the morung at one time. At that day the boy's parents give a feast for their clan and rich men kill even pigs. At night the boy goes to sleep in the morung. This happens always after rice harvest. (In Oting the same custom exists, but the boys enter the morung at O-ya-bu). |
