text: Yesterday a high bamboo was erected in front of the Ang's house. Ghei-hie, the Ouba (= Yemba) (cf. p. 168) tied leaves to that post. Then he puts two leaves to the ground and puts some pounded ginger mixed with salt and rice on these leaves. This is for Hayang. Then he fills rice beer in a leaf cup and pours this on the leaves at the post saying: [konyak]. "From everywhere O-ya-bu may remain, rice seed well may grow, red rice, millet, come, come! White rice, sticky rice, come". (184) When the clan eldest killed the pig yesterday they said: [konyak] "Game, enemies may come. Pangsha, rich men, chiefs may come. I to kill them come together".
