text: (22) Wakching 29/10/1936
text: Informants: Medzou and Shankok
text: In the old times Wakching never had mithans and Chi had none either, only Mon and Tangnyu had mithan. To eat mithan meat is considered a little dangerous, one may become a leper, therefore up to this time some people, for instance Shankok's house, don't eat mithan.
text: Chinyang said yesterday that the mithan was originally the animal of Angs. (23) Still when Medzou was a boy they never saw a mithan. Only "big houses" sacrificed buffaloes, for "small houses" it was genna. When a buffalo was sacrificed a forked post was set up and the buffalo tied to it. SKETCH P.22
text: (24) The The-pong people don't dare to carve hornbills for their morung, neither do they carve human figures or elephants. The Ang-ban does not put hornbills on the top of their roof, otherwise men would die.
