text: (26) Hu-du-bu is the day on which a girl's leg is tattooed. That is done when she is about 7 or 8. On that day her father kills a pig or a chicken and all the women of the clan assemble. The operation is always performed by a woman who receives two rupees. The tattooing is done on the platform of the girl's parent's house.
text: (27) Shendu-bu (Shiong, Chui language) Shenkok-bu (Longkhai, Hungphoi, Oting language) are the words for the face tattoo. The big face tattoo is done by all villages from Oting to Chen. Chongwe, Kamahu, Yungya, Mongnyu tattoo only one line down the forehead and nose. Medzou says too that only head-takers tattoo the throat.
