The two clans in Mon the women of which cut their hair short are: Lumiem Waiyem (cf. NB4, p. 98) |
text: | They don't intermarry, neither do they intermarry with other Ben clans. They only (34) intermarry with the Ang clan and the Wang-shu clan. In Joboka, Zu-nyu and Yannyu all Ben women cut their hair short. In Chong-we all (or some?) Ben women cut their hair too. |
text: | The Oting Longba who died last year, was of Lumiem clan too. But he too was a man from Mon who came to live at Oting but did not marry. There was never a clan in Oting that could provide a Longba, for when the Oting men emigrated from (35) Nganching, the clan of the Longba remained in Nganching. |
