(63) They have not yet found a Benba for the Long-dza morung (cf. NB 8, p. 19). The Au-rhing-bu will be celebrated next month. A bamboo will be put up in front of the Ang's house and one bamboo in front of each morung. No ceremonies are done with these bamboos. The young men erect them and cut them down again. In years when no head was taken, there is no dancing at Punkhung, not even at Au-rhing-bu. Only the girls dance a little. Those of the Ang morung on a small platform, but there are only twelve houses of this morung (64) and few girls. The Long-dza girls dance in front of the Yang-ghai-shim house, which belongs to a man of Yang-ghai-shim clan. There is only this one household of the Yang-ghai-shim clan. In this house is the "girls morung" of the Long-dza-dze. The Nekhong girls dance in front of the Methong-shim house, in which their "morung" is. This house belongs to a man of Ou-wang-bu-shu clan. At night the Wang-dze girls dance in the Ang's house and with them, in one line, (the arms on the shoulders of their partners) dance the Longdza men. (65) The Long-dza girls dance at that night in the Yang-ghai-shim morung with the boys of Wang-dze and Nekhong-dze. The Nekhong-dze girls dance in the Me-thongshim house with some of the Long-dza boys. |
