(69) Today during the ceremony of putting up the stones for the heads the Ou-yau-ba killed a small chicken and sprinkled the blood on the leaves tied to bundles of spears. These spears were stuck into the ground near the stones. Some of the blood was also sprinkled on the heads. While doing this the Ou-yau-ba said: [konyak] "Very well, your mother, your sons call. Your elder brother, your younger brother, call. More may come. Sahib again may give". (70) Songs sung during the dance afterwards: [konyak]. The same song is repeated with the names of various Angs. After three days - on 9th March - they will do the final genna with the heads. They are now on the drums and will remain there till the 9th - On that day they are fed by the Ou-yau-bu, who will say the same (71) words as today and then they will be hoisted on bamboos which are tied to the menhirs in front of the morung. At the Au-rhing-bu they are taken down and fed again. Then they will be taken to the houses of the men who acted as head-taker and remain there. |
