text: | (44) [konyak] There are bad places in the jungle where Gashi Ghawangs above; but not the Great Ghawang, as Ch. says. When a man passes by such a place Gashi Ghawang may catch his soul (the one inside him, which goes to Yimbu). (45) The hiba may tell at what place the man (who falls ill) has lost his soul and he takes a chicken or a dog to that place and kills it with the following words: [konyak]. There are many Gashi's at the unlucky places, above all near springs. |
