text: Chingang says that Ang girls very often have affairs with Ben men and when they get pregnant, they try to marry an Ang. (This statement is in contradiction of those of others who say that Ang girls usually don't have intercourse with Ben men cf. p. 37). If an Ang girl wants to marry an Ang son of another village, she sends him a spear through a go-between with her proposal. If he accept the spear the proposal (139) is accepted too. If he refuses it, this is often considered as a reason for war.
