Metlou calls all men of Bala and Balang who are of the age of his father "ubha". He calls Aku (Balang 17) also ubha because he has entered a Wakching clan. But he called Pongyong, the former Ang, ugou, because (2) he married a Leunok girl. He called Longme, the Ang (from Chi) ubha, and all Angnokphong clan, though he can marry an Angnokphong girl. He calls the men of Niameihu ubha, but he calls the men of Nokanokphong ugou. He calls the men of Yinyonghu ubha, he can not marry a Yinyonghu girl though of Angban. (3) Metlou calls all Oukheang and Thepong men, who are of his father's age, ugou. He calls all men of the whole of Wakching who are only slightly older than he, udzei. He calls all very old men of Wakching uphu. He calls all women of his mother's age who came from Oukheang and Thepong and stay now in Bala, Balang or Angban, uniu. He calls all women of his mother's age who were born in the Bala, (4) Balang and Angban and live in the Oukheang and Thepong, unie, except Nokanokphong women who he calls uniu. He calls all the Bala and Balang girls and the Yinyonghu girls of the Angban who are even only slightly older than he, unia. But the girls, who he may marry he calls only unia if they are several years older than he. |
