text: Hajailo seems a poor village with rather bedragled houses, but with very nice people. It was founded only 9 years ago from Boro-Nianglo. There is a mystery about this foundation. The men in the morung (one of two) told us that there is only one clan, Garengsa, sub-clan of Ne-ume, and that they marry within the clan as there are no girls of other clans. This, however, I doubt, and 9 years ago clearly people from a two clan village came and settled. (47) One or two men insisted that their wives were of the same clan as they. Were they perhaps banished from Boro Nianglo because of incestuous unions? - They on the contrary maintain they left Boro-Nianglo because there some traditional feasts were no longer performed.
