text: We rested and then there was some delay because a porter had taken a wrong turning. By the time he turned up and we were ready to start it began to rain and soon a heavy downpour pelted the roof of the morung where we were staying. While waiting and hoping for the rain to stop, a messenger arrived panting from Laisong. He brought a note from Mr. Bhuyau, Planning Officer, saying he had come to fetch me with a jeep, and had just missed me.
text: We debated what to do, but the rain did not look like stopping, and the villagers told us that it was still 5-6 hours to Guilong, and the path was not cleared. Reluctantly I decided not to risk getting all my luggage soaked and to turn back to Laisong.
