text: The Ang invited us into the huge front hall of his house. At the back there was a corner hung with Burmese gongs, wild boar tusks and other ornaments, - but in recent years coloured pictures of Nehru, Radhakrishna and other celebrities had been added. We were offered tea and at my request also some ricebeer of rather poor quality. The women were all in the fields and no good ricebeer was ready to be served.
