text: Today I was lucky with the weather. Though not brilliant from the start, the day turned out to be quite good with periods of sunshine. In the afternoon there was a heavy thunderstorm, however.
text: Accompanied by Shoupa we left for his fields soon after breakfast. Followed by groups of men and women going to the fields with empty carrying baskets, we descended along the Angban path through high forest. The steep path was almost entirely paved with stone steps, and after some time we came to a washing place, with water spouting out of three iron pipes. Beyond this was a covered gateway, i.e. a covered house-like structure built across the path. On the way back it gave us shelter against a fierce downpour.
