In the wealthier households there is certainly additional furniture and equipment. Shoupa produced a table and chairs, and the odd chair is found in other houses too. Electric torches are widespread and enamel mugs have almost completely replaced the lovely bell-metal cups. But basically the domestic life round the fire has remained the same, and there seems little change in the work of the women, except perhaps for the fact that they have to weave less. |
