text: Both these news came only in the afternoon. In the morning we had gone to Mon, and the A.D.C. Mr. Rikon Lhota, accompanied me. Mon lies on a mountain top with the Ang's house on the highest site, and the other houses clinging to the slopes. Compared to Wakching and - as I later saw - Totok, they are scattered with many trees in-between.
