We got up at 5 am intending to leave early in order to avoid the greatest heat. But there was the usual delay with the porters, even though the ADC had arranged for permanent Government porters. Most of them were Konyaks, but there were also two Nepalis, strangely enough Chetris, - one a Thapa Chetri from Puilan. With us went Methong Meren, an Ao, Extra Ass. Commission.
