Laisong Bagan (garden) 20/8/1970

The village was founded 11 years ago. They came from Hasoichak. They came here because the soil is good for making a garden. They were told how to by the soil conservation officer of Haflong. They now sell the fruit to the police camps and the porters. They sell oranges, pineapple, lemon, banana and jack fruit. They also do jhuming. The land belonged to the Laisong people, but pay no rent for the gardens. There are 14 houses. There is no Kadepeo here, he is in Laisong. To him they pay rent for the jhums in paddy. There is no morung. Eleven families are Christian, 3 are of the old religion. When the village was founded, a morung was built. But eight years ago 11 families became christian. They do not drink rice-beer.
