In the days of head-hunting they fought alone as well as jointly with Tang. They fought with Mon, Chui, Chen, Choknyu, and Sheangha (= Hangha), and took heads from them. These villages also took heads from Yoting. The Yoting warriors captured the heads Yanglim and Shongwang, who were Great Angs of Mon. They gave both of them to Tang, because they went on the raid with Tang. If they raided on their own, they kept the heads. The Mon Ang and men came to raid the Yoting fields and capture heads, but the Yoting people outwitted them and surrounded them and took their heads. This was in the days of Wang-shua, the first Ang of Yoting. In the days of the present Ang, heads were taken from Sheangha, this was about 1950. There are 81 houses in Yoting; 40 of the households are Christian. The Ang is not Christian. |
