text: From Lapvomi down to the Lanier - about 7 miles. After Lapvomi a Kuki came to spy out the land. He was seen sniffing round the camping ground which we had left by the Lapvomi women who gave duhai. Nihu who had been left behind in the village gave chase, but the man vanished as soon as the alarm was raised.
