text: Halted Kongan. The village seemed more prosperous than it used to be and the people fatter and more cheerful. There were no complaints against anybody, but on being asked the Gaonburas said they had not received any rent for their khat for two years or more. I expect this is incorrect. [Note: After seeing L.S.D.O., however, I find that it is likely to be true.] The Khat is occupied by a Nepali grazier and others whose rent is realized by the Mauzadar.
