text: Through Walaudisa to Dhansiripur. This village says that the Nowgong administration is less pleasant than that of the Naga Hills partly because the House-tax is Rs.3/- instead of Rs.2/- but principally because the Gaonburas have to go in to report all deaths etc. They say that this is an exceedingly irksome duty as it means travelling several days journey, which as there is no thana or Mauzadar nearer than Lumding - 5 days journey - it is positive tyranny to insist on. Inspected Census work in Walaudisa and Dhansiripur, and saw a dance by both villages in the evening.
