text: The Thingvom chief sent in his nearest heir Hankomang to make my acquaintance as he (the chief) is near death and his son is dead and there may be a disputed succession. Hankomang is a likely looking fellow, who lived in Manipur till the Kuki war when he left to avoid joining Tintong & Co.
text: Phuima having failed to clear a mile of their road, I have given it for this year only to Kaipu of Halalo.
