I spent the afternoon hearing cases - an enormous concourse of Semas being present including the troublesome transfrontier chiefs, who have paid or had to pay, their fines. Recriminations, denials and assertions were extremely heated and in one case actually led to blows but fortunately the contentious parties were without their weapons at the moment. |

Halted at Baimho and finished off the trans-frontier cases. All the Sema wars are now settled and disposed of up to date, no trans-frontier tour being necessary, provided payments are made as ordered and there is little reason to doubt that this will be done. Zukishe was very badly given away by Yezuthu, and admitted, virtually, that he said he had had Govt. leave to cut up Tsingarr. He was very angry, and may retaliate, but I think not. Inaho of Melahomi had the decency to apologize, after paying his fine, for his share in Zhuikhu's escapade. |
