text: To Longlam, a long hot march - 18 or 19 miles - through Safrai and Singlo Tea gardens and the Abhayapur Reserve. In the first 16 miles we rose only 200 feet that we did not lose again, but 1300 in the last 2 or 3, camping at about 1800 feet. Sandflies and mosquitoes bad. A small village of some 20 houses unmarked on the map.
