text: Lunched at Impur with Dr. Bailey who is much troubled about the postal arrangements. Thence to Mongsemdi by a very stiff Naga path, arriving about 6.0pm. The S.D.O. is fencing the site of the old fort with a view to rebuilding the Inspection Bungalow there when the present one falls down, or when funds are otherwise available. He has fenced it too small and I told the Muharrir to move the fence a few yards down the slope all round. The old tree that grew in that place has been struck by lightning.
