Halted Jakhoma - recounted Kigwema, only a little less unpleasant than recounting Viswema. In the Meselitsuma khel of Kigwema there is an ancient carved stone roughly incised with "Enemy's Teeth" and spear heads and the edge cut into indentations as a tally of love affairs. It is so old that though the man's name - Honi, is remembered, it is not known to what kindred he belonged and no one can claim descent from him. He had a charm which made him irresistible to women. When old he used to keep it in his pipe, but a woman could not pick up the pipe without being fascinated by him. |
