There is much trouble here between the Christian and Ancient Kukis. The former have been separated but refuse the leg of all game killed due to the chief and have failed to pay it on two pigs and three deer shot this year, which they admit. It is also pretty clear that they have in two cases done the Ancients out of fields. Thus Thangchua having arranged to rent a field, Paothang went and offered a little more and got it given to him instead, and so, too, Paochung got Haopu's. The question is whether the two communities should not be further separated by the removal of the Christians to Tesangki or Chalkot, or whether, if not removed, all land should not be arranged for through the Kuki gaonbura or chief. It is no hardship to move a Kuki, and none of the Christian Kukis of Henima were born there except Kalicharan and he is a foreigner. |

There were mithan trespass cases here also and I warned the owners that I was quite prepared to extend to them the orders of the Sema country. |
