3/6/1926 To Chalkot about 7 miles. Dealt with the Chalkot - Songlhu land dispute and camped in Chalkot chapel. This is a Christian Kuki village. It has signalized its conversion by adopting a diet of monkey-meat, which the Ancients among the Thado will not eat. |

Chalkot apply for a school and it would be a success probably. The Kukis are anxious everywhere to learn and have more capacity for Likhapora than Nagas, but of course it will merely be regarded as a means of getting Government posts. |
