text: 5/12/1926 To the Shiniong, about six miles, leaving the signaller and a small escort behind to warn the station on Piyongkong to close down and go back to Mokokchung. This station has been a great success and the night at the Yangnyu has been the only one on the whole tour that we have not been in signalling communication.
text: At the camp on the Shiniong, cleared by Sengha, Chi came in with salamis as usual. This village has a tradition of friendship with Government dating back to our first acquaintance with it over 50 years ago. The chief of Chi exercises authority over a large group of dependent villages, and his influence is most valuable across the frontier here.
