text: To Pongithung via Longsa, about 20 miles. The roadside trees have been destroyed by the burning of jhums. Held court again till 8.0 but disposed of very little.
text: Longsa are doing the Oyantsoa this year and will have to be exempted from all rice supplies.
text: Pongithung complained rather bitterly that I did not hear any of their cases, as I never got through those left over from the day before. Pongithung showed me a stone erected by their predecessors in the land, said to have been Hatigurias. It is called Nangtso-oya, the village apparently having been called Nangtso.
