to Borjan; new paths and roads - questions of responsibility for building, concerning colliery and railway |

To Borjan, 7 miles. The Manager has made a new path to replace the old bridle path through the Colliery. It is a great improvement on the former one. Nothing, however, has been done about making a road from Naginimara to Santok. If the railway were to object to people walking over their line - trespassing of course - there would be no way out at all except by train. As it is, it is not possible to take a horse or a vehicle out this way, and in view of the revenue yielded by the Colliery, they regard it as hard that they should have no proper means of communication with the plains. |
