To Satazumi. Therocheswemi (Zemosa) has work unpaid for on the bridle path. I also find that Sagazumi has not yet been paid for carrying tin guttering for the Ghokhwi panikhets. I drew attention to this on my last tour this way in February and gave the necessary orders, but they say that they have since been in for payment and failed to get it. The Muharrir does not know what orders were passed about trees on roadside lands. That also will be found in my last tour diary, I expect, or in a previous one. |

A welter of litigation from Sagazumi. Most of it merely contentious, but it included an incredible case of a woman raped, according to her own account, and she standing in the path all the time with her baby on her back. Moreover she produced 13 compurgators against the man's four, and the general public certainly considered him guilty. |

This spot has a bad name for evil spirits. The interpreter (Khakhu) carrying my dak in from Zulhami refused to go this way because he was alone, and he quoted some half a dozen mysterious deaths close to Satazumi Inspection Bungalow, and his figures were accurate to my knowledge, but at least two of the deaths were inflicted with a sharp cutting instrument like a dao, and one of them recovered. |
